Moving away from home is a major transition for a young adult. Add in a biblical education that changes your life, abounding daily ministry and volunteer opportunities, humbling experiences in the effort of learning new skills and gaining responsibilities—you really need to be motivated and called by God. No amount of flattery or convincing could persuade a young person to embark on such a challenging journey. Yet at our campus in El Salvador, that is exactly what is happening.
We are blessed to report that God has called five new students to join our Student Internship program in Latin America, and those students are growing in the knowledge of the Word, in humility, and in service every day.
The Lord has been faithful to provide not only the laborers to join his mission in El Salvador, but also to provide the facilities necessary for facilitating such an all encompassing program. The campus is being utilized to its fullest potential, and our team has been amazing stewards of all God has given!
Our campus in Sitio currently provides:
• housing for the students and the Mejia family (cooperatives with our team since 2016) • a recreational field for local youth and kids to play soccer and other games • a gazebo and restrooms to be utilized for public events our team hosts • a garden that nourishes our team and neighbors
As our program continues to grow, we recognized the increased need to provide an indoor facility, dedicated for student activities and studying. You remember being in college and not being able to concentrate on your studies while in your dorm surrounded by all of your friends?? That’s happening here, too.
In faith, we began building the Student Center this Spring. Though Covid-19 slowed its progress, we remain on target to finish construction by the end of the year!
Join us in praying for our students and please consider supporting the student center building by donating HERE. Be sure to put “LA Student Center Building Project” in the memo.
