"Global Odyssey" was a theme that brought a variety of enriching activities, each designed to give our campers a taste of global diversity and unity at our Nashville kids camp. Here's a recap of the week's highlights:
Beatz 'n Dance
The week kicked off with "Beatz 'n Dance," a dynamic activity where campers explored various global dance styles. From rhythmic beats to salsa dancing, our campers not only learned new dances but also the stories and traditions behind them. At the end of each day’s camp session, one of our age groups performed for the rest of the campers!
Global Escape: Outdoor Escape Room
"Global Escape" was an innovative outdoor escape room that took our campers on an adventure around the world without leaving campus. This engaging activity fostered teamwork and problem-solving skills. It was a true test of wit and cooperation!
Paletas Especial
Week 2 campers enjoyed "Paletas Especial," a special treat that introduced them to the refreshing world of Mexican paletas. These delicious, fruit-filled ice pops were a perfect way to cool down and were a huge hit among the campers. After choosing among a variety of flavors, campers blended their own paletas!
Arte Murale
"Arte Murale" was an artistic highlight where campers collaborated to create a large mural representing the global theme. Using vibrant colors and creative designs, this mural now stands as a testament to the unity and creativity of our campers, showcasing their collective effort and artistic talents.
The Epic Water Day
One of the most anticipated events of the week was our first water day of the summer. Campers arrived on Friday morning to find a 15' inflatable water slide, which became the centerpiece of the day. In addition, we had water kickball, where the bases were small pools of water, adding a slippery twist to the classic game.
Soccer Event with Nashville Soccer Club's Street Team
The highlight of the week for many of our campers was the special soccer event hosted by the Nashville Soccer Club's Street Team, featuring former player Jalil Anibaba. This event was a blast for our many soccer enthusiasts. Campers had the chance to learn new skills, play friendly matches, and get tips from a professional player. Jalil's presence and interaction with the kids left a lasting impression, inspiring many to continue pursuing their passion for soccer.
We’re looking forward to the final week of Camp Skillz for the 2024 summer! This week has been a celebration of diversity, creativity, and fun, bringing our campers closer together and enriching their understanding of the world.
