The CASE After-School Program, in partnership with NAZA, creates an inspiring and enriching experience for youth in the Nashville area. In today's complex world, we recognize the importance of nurturing the holistic development of our students. The Youth Program Quality Assessment (YPQA) and character values taught in our program empower our youth to develop and positively impact their communities.
The Youth Program Quality Assessment (YPQA) is a helpful tool we use to evaluate our program's effectiveness, impact, and overall quality. It is an assessment administered biannually by trained staff to assess our programs and give helpful feedback so that they can continually improve. The YPQA helps to evaluate our program to ensure we create a safe, engaging, and impactful environment for our students to thrive and explore their potential.
This year, the YPQA administered focuses on social and emotional learning. Because SEL is one of the foundational elements of our program, we are thankful to receive feedback on this aspect of who we are. The SEL YPQA is designed to assess the quality of programs and identify staff training needs particular to the area of SEL. It evaluates topics such as: creating safe spaces, fostering teamwork, cultivating empathy, and supporting youth interests. We appreciate the value that SEL YPQA places on these important areas that ensure youth are being supported emotionally and being taught character values that will help that for the rest of their lives.
At CASE, we understand the significance of positive role models and mentors in a young person's life. Our staff's commitment to living out character values allows them to act as mentors and guides, empowering our students to face challenges with strength and determination. As positive role models, they inspire our students to embrace these values, creating a nurturing atmosphere where everyone feels accepted and supported. Our after-school program prioritizes fostering a supportive and safe environment for every student. Through open communication and acceptance, we celebrate the uniqueness of each individual, creating a sense of belonging and encouraging self-expression.
With the help of the YPQA, our CASE After-School Program maintains its integrity in being a place of growth and empowerment. With a safe space to learn, grow, and have fun, our students gain practical and SEL skills that can positively impact their communities. It is with sincere gratitude, that we thank our staff, teachers, NAZA, MNPS, and community partners at large that provides opportunities for our youth to unleash their potential to shape a brighter future for themselves and generations to come!
