Since 1988, The Nashville Scene, a free "alternative newsweekly," gathers votes for the "Best of Nashville" contest. Prized certificates can be seen in frames in restaurant lobbies, food trucks, dentist offices, and beauty salons throughout the city. Nashville citizens vote for their favorite businesses in over 250 categories with detailed contest rules and zipped-lip results until the "Best of Nashville Day" in October each year.
In the Nashville Scene’s Best of Nashville Contest 2021, we are proud to announce that the following programs of Global Outreach Developments International placed in the top 3 positions in the following seven categories.
G.O.D. International - 3rd Place, Best Nonprofit, following Nashville Humane Society (Inc. 1946) (2nd) and Hands On Nashville (1st)

Global Outreach Developments (G.O.D.) International is currently celebrating its 25th anniversary. G.O.D. International began in Azusa, California, in 1996 and relocated to Nashville, TN, in 2000. G.O.D. functions in three parts:
Educational Institution (featuring The Institute for G.O.D., a Bible and missions college, and The Academy for G.O.D., an innovative K-12 school)
A Community Service Organization mobilizing youth and volunteers to serve the poor and marginalized in Nashville with particular attention paid to children, the elderly, and immigrant, and refugee communities
A Third World Development Agency serving in Latin America, East Africa, India, and The Philippines.
A motto employed by Gregg Garner, G.O.D. International Founder and CEO is "a strong local presence for a lasting global impact." The attention paid to G.O.D. International through the Best of Nashville contest is a sign of the good work in our city. It is also mirrored in our work in developing nations.
Despite challenges related to a global pandemic, these programs have carried out G.O.D.'s mission in an awe-inspiring way. After a brief online experience in the Spring of 2020, Academy returned to the 2020-2021 academic year fully in-person, with expanded educational opportunities available for homeschool families and online students across the world. Likewise, Camp Skillz was one of the few summer programs available in-person to kids in Nashville in the summers of 2020 and 2021. Global Outreach Developments International as a whole has not paused during the pandemic, but has gotten creative, launched new programs, raised more funds, and continued forward with joy.
We are very thankful, on this 25th anniversary of G.O.D. International, to be recognized by the city we love.
Jeremiah 29:7 Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.
