Nashville, TN – October 25, 2024
Global Outreach Developments Int’l is excited to announce that it has been awarded a $30,000 Community Impact Grant from the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee (CFMT). This grant represents an opportunity for Global Outreach Developments Int’l to enhance its initiatives and create a more significant impact in the community.
With these unrestricted operating funds, G.O.D. Int’l will advance its work in Positive Child & Youth Development. This aligns with our commitment to ensuring that every youth has the resources and opportunities to thrive.
“Receiving this grant empowers us to continue addressing critical needs in our community, such as equitable access to out-of-school time and summer programs for youth, employment opportunities, combating hunger with free meals, and promoting mental health through social, emotional, and character education,” said Stefanie Nsubuga, Director of Community Services at Global Outreach Developments Int’l. “The grant's flexibility allows us to direct resources to the areas that need it most, enabling us to better serve the community and strengthen our impact.”
Global Outreach Developments Int’l is dedicated to serving Nashville's youth through comprehensive programs. The organization’s Character And Skills Education (CASE) Program reaches over 150 middle school students annually with free Out-of-School Time (OST) programming and Social Emotional Learning (SEL) activities, equipping them with crucial life skills and fostering healthier relationships. The WorkWell Program offers 100 high-school students valuable summer job experiences, helping them gain professional skills and build confidence, while summer camps, such as Camp Skillz and Camp Drillz, provide 190 children with educational activities and increased physical activity. All programs include free meals to ensure that youth have access to nutritious food. This holistic approach not only addresses immediate needs like hunger and access to education but also builds mental health resilience and leadership capabilities, empowering youth to thrive.
CFMT has recently reimagined its grantmaking approach, responding to feedback from the nonprofit community by shifting towards larger, more impactful grants. This year, the average grant size has increased from $5,000 in previous years to $20,000 in 2024, targeting key areas such as Arts & Creative Culture, Child/Youth Development and Education, and Positive Mental Health. This marks a significant evolution in CFMT’s approach, focusing on fewer organizations for deeper, long-term investments.
"As we work together to build a stronger Middle Tennessee, we are honored to partner with Global Outreach Developments Int’l in this journey," said Adnan Karim, CFMT’s Vice President of Community Impact. "These organizations are the heartbeat of our community, and we are committed to supporting them in their efforts to bring creative solutions and positive outcomes to the people they serve."
