This week marked a unique experience for participants of GOD int'ls English Language Learning Class tailored for Spanish speakers, a program of Global Outreach Developments Int'l. Amidst our routine sessions, we had the privilege of hosting Jaimeé Arroyo, FNP, from Hopewell Family Care, for an insightful healthcare seminar focusing on immune support.
Jaimeé Arroyo, a certified nurse practitioner with extensive experience, has travelled the globe, offering medical expertise to communities of need, both abroad and within the United States. Her commitment to sharing knowledge makes her an invaluable resource, particularly for our Spanish-speaking learners.
The seminar, conducted entirely in Spanish, provided a unique opportunity for students to delve into crucial information concerning their immune systems, common illnesses, and fever management. Engaged and curious, students actively participated, posing questions and absorbing Jaimeé's wealth of medical wisdom.
GOD's Language in Action program goes beyond language proficiency, aiming to equip adult learners with the tools to navigate and thrive in a foreign environment. Seminars such as this play a pivotal role in providing essential insights into healthcare practices, enabling students to adapt to the nuances of a new healthcare system and culture.
Participants left the seminar armed with knowledge on immune-boosting foods and medications available in the United States, as well as vital information on recognizing symptoms and knowing when to seek medical assistance. For many attendees hailing from Guatemala, understanding the intricacies of the U.S. healthcare system is a crucial aspect of their integration process.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Jaimeé for generously volunteering her time and expertise, empowering our students with life-saving information on maintaining their health, especially during the prevalent sick season.
This healthcare seminar on immune support served as a testament to the transformative power of education. By providing culturally relevant and accessible information, we continue to empower English language learners on their journey towards holistic integration and well-being in their new home.
