But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. Acts 1:8
Jesus’ final words to his disciples on his day of ascension. Be my witnesses, testify to the power of the Spirit in your lives.
For as long as we’ve known our East African brothers and sisters, they have been giving testimony. They’re always quick to share God’s Word and bear witness to the power of His presence among them. This week was no exception…
Simon Njeru, Kenya. In regards to the encouragement, I have one which is burning in my heart and it is about this era of the covid-19 pandemic. When it came it affected us so much, as getting food was becoming a great problem for the neighbors and brethren in Kenya. But now we are thanking God for the brothers and sisters of the G.O.D. Int’l community, for they stood and are standing with us even today.
Brothers like Gregg Garner, Cameron Kagay, John Nyago, Benjamin Reese, and sister Laurie Kagay, among others, have been sharing the Scriptures and expounding it fully, giving us a lot of strength and more to that all of you giving your life to us unconditionally all the time. Surely we have seen God being who He is at this time, and we are sure He will continue to be who he will be in our lives.
Lawrence Ssemakula, Uganda. I wanted to testify to the LORD for his provision to us as a family here.
I have seen the Lord continue to meet our needs, providing us all with adequate and nutritious food that we have been able to even share with our neighbors. Some of the teachers have been staying around the school premises, and we have been able to host visitors with extra caution because of covid-19 while demonstrating the love of Jesus. We have met other people’s needs as the Lord has also been meeting ours.
It has been a great miracle that the LORD has done for our daughter, Quinn (who has sickle cell anemia). We have been making many hospital visits to the doctors and having to do various tests that have high costs, but God has provided and kept up safe. Quinn’s life has improved greatly and her praise to the LORD is endless.
Brother Francis’s family is getting a new house and it is such a great provision that the Lord has made amidst us.
Brother Peter’s family had a baby without complications on Cissy’s health. Not having to get a referral but managing to deliver the baby at a nearby health center was such a great achievement, The Lord is so kind.
Seeing brother Musaazi, Joseph, and Quinn being taught the Bible by brother Peter has been a blessing for us all amidst these hard times when young people can’t meet and learn.
The rest of our children have been very well and enjoying being around each other in our healthy environment that the Lord has given us here.
I am so thankful that Jesus has put a lot of joy and happiness in our hearts and his praise shall continually be on our lips.
The following text has been on my heart as I have been contemplating on what the Lord has done for us in these times, and also encouraged much by the message Cameron shared during a recent Bible study. Not giving anxiety a foothold but to depend on the Lord, prioritizing his work and he will sustain us.
Bless the LORD, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name! Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy, who satisfies you with good so that your youth is renewed like the eagles. The LORD works righteousness and justice for all who are oppressed. He made known his ways to Moses, his acts to the people of Israel. The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love. Psalm 103:1-8
