The G.O.D. EA Summit gathered students and leaders from throughout East Africa. Ugandan students attend the Institute for G.O.D. East Africa. Kenyan students are participants in a youth bible study led by Reuben Ndwiga and Simon Njeru.
The EA Summit was productive and we were able to accomplish the goals that we set out to do. Praise God! These goals were to provide further vision for African participants, hear feedback from our African cooperatives, provide Bible teaching, and worship together. We spent a large portion of our time helping students understand how our organization operates through the examples of our activity at our headquarters in Tennessee. Different members of our U.S. team shared about specific sectors of life in our community including student life and business development, as well as focused attention on our agriculture program and our East Africa team.
We have created a model that we can incorporate around the world in all the regions that we work. Thus, our goal is for them to understand all the components of our ministry so that it can be implemented in East Africa.
2015 G.O.D. East Africa Summit Participants
Our gathering provided an increased understanding of our organization and the work we do. At the end we were excited to share with the Kenyan youth that we would be offering two scholarships for the Institute for G.O.D. East Africa for the fall semester of 2016. (Currently we only have students from Uganda.) We look forward to the Ugandans and Kenyans studying together next year!
We are blessed to be able to do what we do. Working with God to cultivate the hearts of these young people is such a joy. Our hope is that our investment would produce young people who know the LORD and give their lives in service to him. It’s our responsibility to provide the opportunity for our family in Africa to know the LORD. We consider it a privilege to do it.
