Testimonies from International Students' Course on Exodus

This spring I, along with a team of educators from the Institute for G.O.D., offered a virtual Bible course on the book of Exodus for our international cooperatives. Although I’ve taught God's Word here in Nashville and in India for the last ten years this was the first time I’ve been involved in a collaborative effort to teach the Bible to a classroom of participants from all over the world.

Our organization provides biblical education in all of our international regions to our cooperatives who have been working with our ministry-- some for decades, and others who have recently joined. We know that having a shared biblical foundation among us is crucial to any good, lasting work that we do for God’s kingdom.

Therefore, a team of educators, cameramen, video editors, and course proctors collaborated and created a 10-week course in the book of Exodus for our ministry cooperatives. Video lectures, visuals, maps, online quizzes and other helpful aids went from our offices in Nashville to East Africa, India, Southeast Asia and Latin America. Dense, twenty-minute lectures were posted weekly to 20+ international students - all ready to learn God’s word! We were thrilled to receive overwhelmingly positive feedback and witness ongoing hunger for biblical education from every corner of the world.

I know no better way of telling you the impact that this experience had on our cooperatives other than letting you hear from them. Please enjoy hearing from these men and women who are deeply devoted to the Lord.

Bible Study Global Outreach Development
At the Tahanan Community Center, Clark and Rina Miller worked through the Exodus Bible class with the youth that regularly attend Bible studies.

“Thank you for encouraging and helping us to keep learning God's word and make it a priority.” - Rina Miller, The Philippines “My favorite aspect of this course was to get more understanding of how God identifies with the suffering and oppressed, and is always working tirelessly to redeem humanity from their suffering.” - Peter Kimbugwe, Uganda “My favorite aspect of the course was learning of the presence of God and the power of His word. God being there for his chosen men and helping the oppressed.” - Manohar Paul, India

Exodus Bible Class Participants
In Uganda, Exodus class participants came together to listen to the recorded lectures and then work through the discussion prompts together. Discussion questions allowed for people from a variety of cultures to take the theological themes presented and move towards appropriate application.

“Thanks sister and other teachers who taught us the Exodus 2020 course online. To me, I’m so happy for I have learnt a lot of things; in this course and is even helping me to understand the other Bible books well and even makes me stand firm in my faith knowing that if I will adhere to God’s commands I will be his and he will be my God for ever. So I would request you all if possible we need more and more of this. We are hungry for the word of God.” - Simon Njeru, Kenya “My favorite part of the Exodus class was to see how God can use the weakest of society (women slaves/midwives) to save lives.” - Cissy Namukisa, Uganda

“We thoroughly enjoyed listening, discussing and doing quizzes. Exodus, which is God's deliverance of Israelites from slavery in Egypt this was one of the most detailed studies I have done.” - Rose Oungh, India “I was really impressed by the sensitivity that was demonstrated by the teachers through their speech to ensure that they are clear and articulate, identifying major points of each class every time they taught and making sure that they emphasized them. This made me and I think others too, to be able to comprehend the teachings. Even though we had different teachers for the same course, I loved their way of staying connected to each other and connecting the content hence making it easy for following up the trajectory of the entire course. Thanks so much. I was blessed and I will continue to serve the LORD and do his word that he’s spoken through you all our teachers. Thanks again. God be with You.” - Lawrence Ssemakula, Uganda

Genesis Bible Study
Iada Umwi has been with G.O.D. International for one year. An enthusiastic student of God’s word, she studied the book of Genesis last summer, and has just completed the in-depth course on the book of Exodus.

“A favorite part was the presence of God and the power of His word. God being there for his chosen men and helping the oppressed.” - Iada Umwi, India

“This is to inform you all who participated in the lectures of Exodus 2020 for they have enlightened us so much. They have given us more understanding when reading the Bible. To me I would say that we need more of this in order for us to have much knowledge to change our life’s which will necessitate us to become the treasured possession of God and unite us as well, helping us in resolving the problems which might arise among us. I’m really hungry of God’s word and I want to know more to understand God well. So please prepare more classes for us. I am blessed to be part of this class, and I am honored to have the opportunity of contributing some thoughts on how I would be served. May the Lord continue to bless you abundantly in all that you do. Thank you.” - Simon Njeru, Kenya

We are paying attention to the earnest requests of our partners in ministry for more Bible training! This Fall we will be offering more Bible and Community Development classes to our regional cooperatives through the online courses at The Institute for G.O.D.

If you have supported our biblical education efforts around the world, we THANK YOU! If you would like to support future endeavors, please consider donating to our international scholarship fund.
