The South East Asia Team of G.O.D. Int’l is excited to announce our summer ministry plans in the Philippines! We will be sending two groups of students to the island of Leyte in the Eastern Visayas region. The first group consists of G.O.D. summer interns who will spend three weeks in the region as part of their 7-week program. The second group consists of students from the Institute for G.O.D. Int’l who are going on a 5-week immersion trip as part of their undergraduate curriculum.
Interns and Immersion participants will work with children on an almost daily basis while on their trips. Getting in some practice here is essential.
The interns traveling are Kennedy Dupuis, Olivia O’Keefe, and Joshua Mohn. While abroad they will be introduced to systemic issues that plague the Philippines and will participate in times of Bible study and prayer to help them to see needs through the lens of the Word. We hope their experiences will fuel their desire to serve God and the poor of the world and attune their ears to be obedient to his voice.
The immersion team is comprised of Brianne Botzum, Ethan Harris and Amanda Byrd. They will deepen their understanding of Filipino culture and employ skills they have developed in their education in ministry. Please pray for their unity, their energy, for their commitments to the people of the Philippines to be strengthened, and for their eyes to continually be opened to their potential to meet the needs around them.
Be on the lookout for updates from the field this summer and join us in praying for their time abroad!
