Welcome to RIDE
The RIDE (Refugee and Immigrant Driver Education) is a program designed to empower individuals with the essential skill of driving in America. We recognize the crucial role reliable transportation plays in the lives of immigrants and refugees, who often rely on community members for rides to work, doctor appointments, stores, schools, and more. Additionally, we understand the challenges posed by navigating public transit systems that are not always available or accessible to all neighborhoods where refugees and immigrants live. Lastly, safety in navigating the roads in this country is essential for all communities.
Our mission is to break the barriers that limit access to everyday needs by educating and empowering our participants to confidently navigate American roads.
By enrolling in our program, participants gain more than just driving knowledge and skills – They acquire cultural insight consisting of American unwritten driving norms which are key to a peaceful driving experience for all drivers. Learning to drive becomes a valuable asset, providing independence and flexibility in meeting daily obligations and accessing essential services. Our goal is to ensure that our participants not only become proficient drivers but also gain the confidence to navigate the American roads to lead more independent lives in their communities.
Our Driver’s Education course videos were meticulously created using the TN state approved drivers training manual to ensure comprehensive coverage of essential topics. With multilingual content, we cater to a diverse audience, fostering a comfortable and inclusive learning environment. Whether you're a native English speaker or more comfortable with Swahili, Burmese, or Spanish, our course is tailored to meet your language needs.
Translated Video Courses
To further enhance the learning experience, each participant receives exclusive access to our Learning Management System (LMS). This platform allows individuals to engage with the video curriculum, complete homework assignments, and access additional resources at their own pace and convenience. We believe in empowering our participants to practice and study on their terms, bridging the gap between classroom lessons.

Our RIDE (Refugee and Immigrant Driver Education) program provides a 6-week course designed to make learning the rules of the road easy and enjoyable. It is our goal for participants to pass the Drivers Knowledge Test at the end of our course. What sets our course apart is our commitment to inclusivity, cultural appropriation, and personalized learning. We understand that the journey to becoming a confident driver involves more than just the road rules. Our program offers its video curriculum in 4 different languages: English, Swahili, Burmese, and Spanish.
